If you are looking for low carb spaghetti, this is the place to find it. Now, I have never had a craving for pasta but I know there are many of you out there do and when you have decided to lose weight and eat the low carb way, then we need to find substitutes. Well, cabbage is very low in carbs and is full of nutrition and very healthy for you. So let’s take our cabbage, slice it into thin strips and use it as our noodles. Yum Yum! Top it off with my homemade spaghetti meat sauce and you have yourself a delicious meal.
1 ½ pounds ground beef
1 cup mushrooms
½ cup chopped white onion
½ cup yellow peppers
2 cups tomatoes diced with herbs (Irresistibles Bio Organics found at Food Basics)
1 tsp. chili powder
8 slices of Salami (check label 0 carbs)
In frying pan cook onion, mushrooms, garlic and ground beef until pink is gone, add chili powder, tomatoes, salami and peppers. Cook until mixture thickens.
How to Cook Cabbage
Add approximately an inch of water in bottom of pan, place a steamer colander in pan, thinly slice cabbage, place on colander sprinkle cabbage with Herbamare Spice or salt, cover with lid, cook for approx. 10 minutes, drain.
Place 1 cup of cooked cabbage on plate, add 1 cup of meat sauce on top of cabbage, sprinkle with fresh Parmesan Cheese.
Yeild: 8.34 net carbs per serving (1 cup of meat sauce and 1 cup of cabbage)
