I love this Low Carb Marinara Sauce, I use it for my salad dressing, my zoodles, lasagna, pizza, it is so versatile. Boughten marinara sauce cannot hold a candle to this homemade low carb marinara sauce.
Yes we used a can of tomatoes but you could easily use fresh tomatoes and have amazing results also. Its just that a can of tomatoes is so convenient and easy and you get great results.
The recipe can be spruced up with a variety of spices, its all up to you.
Ingredients
28 ounce can of organic diced tomatoes
2 crushed gloves of garlic
2 tablespoons minced fresh basil or 2 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 onion finely chopped
Cook all ingredients together for approximately 1 hour until tomatoes break down.
Place in a food processor for a smooth texture.
Store in the fridge.
50 Servings (1 Tablespoon each)
Yield: .6 net carbs per serving
