I love one meal dishes, while there cooking in the oven it gives me time to clean up my mess and when we devour our Low Carb Hamburger Cheese Bake I ony have one dish to clean up. There is nothing fancy at all about this family friendly dish its easy to put together and it boast big flavor!
I must say this Low Carb Hamburger Cheese Bake tastes like “home”, good comfort food. It is great with dill pickles which are low carb or great with sweet relish, which will boost your carb count.
I love a little of Heinz low sugar ketchup with this meal.
Just add a side salad with you Cheese Bake and your all set.
So lets get started and I will show you how to make it!
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
1 clove minced garlic
2 tablespoons cream cheese
1 teaspoon herbamare or salt and pepper
1/2 cup bacon crumble or 3 slices of cooked bacon
6 slices of dill pickle (use more if you wish)
Cheese Sauce
3 eggs
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons mustard
3/4 cup heavy cream (35%)
In a skillet combine ground beef, garlic, onion, cook thoroughly, add the cream cheese and stir until melted. Set aside.
Cheese Sauce Instructions
In a bowl mix cheese, mustard and cream together.
Using a 7×11 (8×8) ovenware dish spread the meat mixture to the bottom of the dish.
Add bacon crumble.
Pour half of your cheese mixture over the meat.
Place pieces of pickle all over the meat.
Pour the rest of the cheese mixture and spread over the meat.
Sprinkle some shredded cheese over top.
Preheat oven 350 F, bake on middle rack for 15 to 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
Optional: Once removed from oven half cherry tomatoes and add to the top of the cheese bake.
Let sit for 10 minutes it will help firm up the dish so it will cut and come out of the dish in squares.
Servings: 8
Yield: 2.5 net carbs
