Meat pies may be a little old-school, but its time to discover its delicousness but making it into a low carb Meat Pie.
This Low Carb Ground Beef Meat Pie is made with a great crust, I didn’t think it needed a crust on top, the combination of the meat mixture makes up for the top crust. It is a comforting dinner on a Cool Fall Day, or any day at that. You can eat the pie on its own or served with your favorite vegetable or salad.
So lets get started and I will show you how to make it!
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
6 oz tomato sauce ( Enchilada Sauce)
1 cup cheddar cheese
3 eggs
Meat Pie Crust
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 ounces cream cheese
1 1/4 cup almond flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt
1 egg
Place both mozzarella and cream cheese in a bowel and microwave for 1 minute. Remove from microwave and stir cheeses together, blend well.
Add the almond flour and mix well, (I wear a rubber glove and mix with my hand) Beat egg and add it to the cheese mixture, mix until you have a dough.
Place the dough on the silicone mat and place another silicone mat on top of the dough. Using a rolling pin roll out the dough enough to fit 9 inch glass pie plate.
Once the dough is rolled out take your cutting board and place it under the silicone mat.
Peel off the top silicone mat, place the glass pie plate upside down on top of the rolled out dough. Hold the pie plate with one hand and place your other hand under the cutting board. Pick them up together and flip the cutting board to the top and the pie plate is on the bottom.
Remove the cutting board and peel off the silicone mat off of the dough, which is now laying on top of the pie plate. Form the dough in the pie plate , set a side.
