What a great side dish, I was at my husbands Family Christmas Party and our niece brought this great Low Carb Creamy Brussel Sprout with Bacon Dish. It was Delicious and I could not go and not share this recipe with the rest of you. I tape the video before Christmas hoping to get it up and running before Christmas Day, but life got in the way and it didn’t happen.
Still, this Low Carb Creamy Brussel Sprout with Bacon dish can be served anytime of the year and I know you will enjoy it.
I baked it in advance and put it in the freezer for our special day. It was a total hit with the family.
Lets get started and I will show you how to make it!
300 grams crispy cooked bacon
2 tablespoons of bacon grease
2 tablespoons of salted butter
2 lbs brussel Sprouts
4 large minced garlic cloves
1 1/2 cups whipping cream (35)
1/3 cup mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven 350F
Take a pair of kitchen scissors and cut your bacon into small pieces and fry until crispy. Set aside in a paper towel to soak up the grease.
Save 2 tablespoons of bacon grease. The rest of grease I save in a sealed jar in the fridge.
In your skillet melt the bacon grease and butter together.
Prepare your brussel sprouts by cutting off the stock and cutting the sprouts in half.
Add brussel sprouts to skillet with grease and butter, cook and stir occasionally for approximately 5 minutes , add minced garlic.
Add whipping cream and bacon, stir tell well mixed.
In a ovenware dish pour in the brussel sprout mixture,
Add mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.
Heat oven to 350 F, bake for 10 minutes until all the cheese has melted and is bubbling.
